Ingredients Water in the Wood

Water has a major role and influence of the timber. Although hardness and the age of wood which will give different results on each type of wood. As the wood can change shape because of the amount of water content. However, where the water that affects the quality of the wood is?
Water is located in two large sections of wood pores as follows:
1. Free Water (water not bound), located in the wood pores. Such as already described in a previous post that the pores of the wood are like the pipes are arranged in line. Free water is very easy to evaporate, because Free Water does not contain many substances and cells of the tree.
2. Bound Water, contains more cellulose and other chemicals. Located in between pores, while strengthen the bond between the pores. If this bound water evaporates then the wood will experience shrinkage.
Free water in some type of soft wood can evaporate through the process of Air Drying, while for some hard wood can only be through the process of Dry Kiln.
