Using the right hammer and wood chisel

Using the Right hammer
Hammer is the most functional hand tool than others. To determine the point of the screw, to include nails, tighten the connection, open connection, hitting a chisel, and so on. In broad outline and the main part of the hammer head is working to beat, but there are some types that have specific functions. Let's see one by one type of hammer it.
Ball hammer
Iron heads, the usual box-shaped front and rear, round like a ball. The main function is to insert hammer a nail, the back function to insert a nail head over to the wooden surface in building construction. However, other functions can also be as a standard straightening crooked trunk.
Hammer leverage
The back of the hammer head shaped like a lever (crowbar) to open a nail stuck in the wood or other materials. Usually the construction of the hammer head handle is very strong. Never use the back of the head, the hammer of this type to carve.
Drip hammer
The head is smaller than the iron hammer that has been mentioned above, the back form pointed shape, a diameter of about 2mm at the ends. Hammer serves as drip, to put the nail on the surface of the wood in furniture craftsmanship.
Wooden hammer
The whole body of the hammer is made of hard wood and the head much larger than ordinary hammer. Best used to hit the chisel in the construction process manually, or hitting a construction connection before pressing. Only one important thing to note in this hammer that is not hitting a chisel using the side of a wooden hammer head, hitting will not focus and the hammer will easily damaged because of the pressure only on the side of the wood fiber.
Rubber mallet
Best used for opening / closing the connection component has finished. This hammer also works to install furniture equipment made of plastic or rubber so as not to damage the equipment.
Use of safe hammer:
1. Just use a hammer to hit his head. Factory only hardens the metal part of the hammer head on the front.
2. Do not swing the hammer is too high, will only make the hammer blow is not directed.
3. Avoid using a hammer to leverage (except hammer leverage).
4. Wetting hammer head with cloth moistened oil to maintain the durability of iron hammer head.

Using a Wood Chisel
It is important to use a manual work tool properly and safely. Would be useful to accelerate the process and maintain the quality of the work. Here's how to use a chisel properly and safely.

Use the Right:
- Use the right type of chisel for the job you are doing. There are 3 types of cross chisel with different functions.
1. Wide cross-section specifically for cleaning / leveling the surface;
2. Trapezoidal cross-section to make a hole or groove;
3. Beams cross-section to make deep holes in the pen.
- Always keep sharpening chisels. A good sharpening angle is 25 degrees, and the corner sharpness (chisel tip) ideal 30 degrees.
- Do not ever try to cut too much or too deep. This work could lead to a broken chisel and risk to safety.
- Always tie the work piece at a table or desk using a clamp and note that the position of clamp does not interfere with the work process.

In a safe manner:
- Always hold the chisel at the back and always keep the both hand position on the back of the hand carving.
- Tie the work piece using clamps so do not move.
- Always position your feet on the floor.
- Close the cover / safety sharp chisel when is not in use.
- Always wear safety glasses when working with a chisel to avoid splinters.
- Never place or store your chisels in pocket.
- Use a chisel to carve wood, not to open the screw or nail leverage.
