Veneer slicing and processing process

Veneer is thin sheet of wood that are generated through a process engine. The thickness also varies depending on the function and use. Veneer used for a final layer of plywood (multiplex) or other artificial board are usually quite thin but good quality, especially from the aesthetic or beauty. Wood fiber direction and type of veneer surface required by consumers affect peeling method of wood into veneer. Hence there are currently several methods to obtain certain forms of wood fiber and also to gain economic value.
From a log veneer to go through several processes as follows:
Debarking
The first process veneer is to strip bark until clean.
Conditioning
Log boiled or steamed with steam or hot water so that the soft to easy slice veneer.
Charging
Trunk log in enter into a working machine to make round logs as possible. Includes, trimming parts of the log to obtain a good yield.
Lathing
Logs peel process. There are various methods slice such as rotary slice, quarter slice, slice, flat, plain slice, half-round slice and slice Rift.
In the rotary method, the log of wood still left intact according to its original form. Then the log of wood was placed on a pivot player (cross section) and then rotated according to the radial direction of wood. Rotary slice allows generating veneer timber as long as possible with sheet width veneer in accordance with long log. Of course to get the best results need to be a log of wood selection and form a symmetrical cross-section of a round log.
Quarter slicing, slice conducted in the direction radius log (perpendicular to the circle of the year) so that the fibers veneer straight and uniform. In this method the log is split by the method used quarter sawn.
Flat / lengthwise, slicing is done parallel to the direction of fiber length regardless of the radial or tangential direction so that the resulting fiber varies. This method is not processed in logs but block of wood which has been sawed off.
Plain, slicing parallel to the direction of circle years and logs that are processed split so that the surface retained the circle years. Veneer fiber types of flower motifs in accordance with the circular movement of the timber.
Half-Round slicing method is similar to the Plain, but in a position that rotates the log so that the fiber veneer surface more straight than Plain slicing that more form of flower fibers (curved and the curve).
Rift slicing, almost similar to the method of the Quarter but the knife is tilted slightly to the position of the log radius. This makes the veneer fibers become straight and smooth.
Clipping
Veneer (especially from rotary method) is cut according to a certain size and at the same time separating the good veneer by removing the defective part veneer / defects.
Sorting
This process is usually done manually with a separate species based veneer pig wood, terrace wood or grade veneer. Veneer also well stacked with the category before then dried.
Drying Veneer
Because processed directly from the log mean veneer still wet with high levels of MC. As with wood, veneer also need to be dried until it reaches a specified MC level by using a special machine for drying veneer.
